360 Degree Video
The Wright Flyer provides Part 107 compliant drone operations for 360 degree video capture.
Drone imaging can extend beyond traditional frame-based video into high-resolution spherical capture. Using specialized 8K camera systems and GPU-assisted stitching workflows, The Wright Flyer produces immersive 360-degree video that allows viewers to explore a scene in every direction—delivering full environmental context from up to 400 feet above ground level, where permitted.
High-resolution aerial 360 capture preserves the entire environment in a single pass, offering substantially more flexibility than a conventional fixed-angle shot. A single, properly planned flight can later be reframed into multiple cinematic compositions or entirely new perspectives—meaning critical angles are not lost in the moment, and editorial decisions are not locked to conditions in the field. For documentary, preservation, and public-facing projects, this approach reduces the need for repeat flights, limits exposure to operational risk, and ensures the mission captures what cannot be recreated later.
When exported as a complete 360-degree project, this format is well suited for landscapes, destinations, large properties, and environments where spatial context matters more than linear motion. Viewers can pan, tilt, and explore the scene interactively on mobile devices, desktops, or supported applications—creating situational awareness and engagement that conventional video cannot replicate.
An example flown in the autumn is provided below. (Note that The Wright Flyer was operating at the forefront of immersive aerial capture before purpose-built 360° drone platforms entered the market. While 360 camera technology already existed, integrating it into stable, flight-ready aerial workflows required custom approaches and disciplined execution. The example below, captured in October 2019, reflects that early capability—achieved before dedicated 360 drone systems became available.) Use your mobile device to pan through the environment; or, use your mouse to rotate the scene. If the quality does not appear to be high definition, click on the gear icon at the bottom of the YouTube video to access Settings, select Quality, and choose the highest value presented. If the video plays as a Mercator projection, you’ll need to view the video through the YouTube app directly.
If you’re seeking professional 360-degree drone video in Grand County, Gilpin County, Boulder County, or Clear Creek County, contact The Wright Flyer to get started. Most projects—from the initial call to final deliverables—are completed in under two days, without compromising compliance, quality, or intent.
