Cinematography

Drones are among the most capable tools ever devised for capturing scale, motion, and perspective in cinematography.

Behind every aerial sequence is disciplined flight planning and aviation decision-making—far more than simply launching a drone and pressing record.

Drones are a powerful storytelling tool for cinematography and brand-anthem films, adding true three-dimensional movement without the cost, logistics, or limitations of cranes and jibs. Gimbal-stabilized cameras across all three axes deliver smooth cinematic footage in HD, Full HD, and 4K—including Dolby Vision HDR and Apple ProRes 422 HQ capture—with resolutions up to 6K and immersive 360° formats. Timelapses, hyperlapses, motionlapses, and nightlapses further extend visual narrative and sense of time.

One early highlight is a CBS4 documentary segment on the East Portal Camp Cabins at the Moffat Tunnel in Gilpin County, Colorado, produced for the Colorado’s Most Endangered Places announcement. Additional portfolio selections reflect similarly collaborative productions, where my aerial work supported larger editorial teams and long-form storytelling projects.

If you’re seeking commercial drone cinematography in Grand County, Gilpin County, Boulder County, or Clear Creek County, contact The Wright Flyer to get started. Most projects—from the initial consultation through final deliverables—are completed in under two days, without compromising safety, regulatory compliance, or production quality.

POST-PRODUCTION WORKFLOW

In many productions, aerial footage is delivered directly to the editorial team for integration into a larger film or broadcast workflow. When a project requires it, I can also complete post-production independently to deliver finished aerial sequences or full video pieces. HD, Full HD, 4K—including Dolby Vision HDR and Apple ProRes 422 HQ capture—along with 6K, 8K, and 360° video projects are edited and finished in Final Cut Pro. This workflow supports efficient handling of high-resolution media while maintaining color fidelity, motion consistency, and delivery reliability across formats.

Post-production capabilities include chroma key compositing, proxy-based editing for large projects, motion tracking, advanced keyframing, multicam editing, retiming, and precision audio synchronization. Sound effects and music tracks are licensed through Soundstripe using perpetual, project-attached licenses to ensure long-term usage rights and downstream publishing flexibility.

Editing decisions prioritize narrative clarity, pacing, and intent—whether the final deliverable is documentary, commercial, real estate, or editorial—so the finished work reflects both technical polish and storytelling discipline. Most projects—from flight operations through final delivery—are completed in under two days, while maintaining narrative clarity, technical accuracy, and consistent visual standards.
