Ladders can be dangerous, roof pitches can be steep, and farmland can stretch almost to the horizon: how can surveys & viewsheds be made easier? The use of drones for inspections, surveys, and viewshed analysis has proven efficient and valuable as aerial technologies advance. The remote pilot remains on terra firma, while the inspector can review the footage live through an HDMI output or uploaded still/video files. Viewshed analysis can be started with Google Earth and confirmed with drones on site, or later in the field office, along with detailed photographs and videos. FLIR (infrared) or LiDAR sensors can be used for select projects as well.
